Abstract
► Erosion rates in interior WAIS are amongst the lowest from Antarctica. ► Continuous polar environment in interior WAIS since Late Miocene. ► Interior WAIS did not thicken during Pliocene warm period. ► Ice sheet model predictions are consistent with cosmogenic nuclide data. ► More frequent collapsed-WAIS states and smaller WAIS volumes during the Pliocene.
