Abstract
⺠Distichia plant and peat have been examined along transect in the Peruvian Andes .⺠δ13C of Distichia plant is well preserved in peat. ⺠Decrease ~ 0.97 ± 0.23Ⱐin δ13Cpeat reflects ~ 1 °C increase in Tair of growing season. ⺠This relationship can be used as a proxy for paleotemperature reconstruction.
