Abstract
► We present high resolution isotopic ages for the Patagoniense transgression. ► 87Sr/86Sr and zircon U/Pb dating methodologies yield similar results. ► The succession was deposited in at least 1 Ma during the Burdigalian. ► Andean tectonic subsidence overprinted eustatic sea level fluctuations.
