Abstract
⺠We present high resolution isotopic ages for the Patagoniense transgression. ⺠87Sr/86Sr and zircon U/Pb dating methodologies yield similar results. ⺠The succession was deposited in at least 1 Ma during the Burdigalian. ⺠Andean tectonic subsidence overprinted eustatic sea level fluctuations.
