Abstract
► We developed a numerical model for deglacial sediment production and transport. ► The simulated glacier erosion capacity is governed by the ice volume. ► Bedrock shielding by sediment is an important inhibitor of erosion. ► Sediment pulse to periglacial domain shows a significant lag time behind deglaciation. ► Erosion and sediment production are driven by the movement of warm-based ice.
