Abstract
ⶠSatellite altimetry gives a geocentric reference for the sea surface. ⶠSea level measured by tide gauges is affected by vertical land movement. ⶠTide gauge observations are available in tectonically active Southern Italy. ⶠVertical differential movements between Calabria and Sicily Island have been detected.
