Abstract
The ZacheÅmie disturbed beds appear to represent a unique example of dolomitic paleosols retaining the nearly marine chemical signatures of their marine-lagoonal dolomitic substrates, with little meteoric or vadose-evaporitic overprint. Their occurrence in the ZacheÅmie succession significantly changes our views on early tetrapod habitats, which apparently included permanently elevated and sparsely vegetated areas adjacent to shallow marine lagoons.
