Abstract
⺠A new procedure is described for determining bedding in seemingly homogeneous rocks. ⺠Field-oriented cubes are used as samples, typically 5 cm in side length. ⺠Image analysis of the scanned cube faces gives the traces of the bedding on the faces. ⺠Bedding trace orientations from mutually perpendicular cube faces are then combined. ⺠A test of the procedure shows it can give excellent estimates of 3D bedding attitude.
