Abstract
⺠A sediment core down to 40 m under the city of Venice was analyzed. ⺠Sedimentary facies belong to continental and littoral depositional systems. ⺠Climatic changes in the last 40,000 years were identified through pollen analyses. ⺠Pollen data were compared with other European palyno-stratigraphic records. ⺠Interstadials correspond to Dansgaard-Oeschger warming events of Greenland ice cores.
