Abstract
⺠In this study, we developed a new method to study the geomagnetic jerk event over the polar regions. ⺠This method has an advantage in using spherical harmonic models for the regional study. ⺠We have confirmed the geomagnetic jerk events during 20th century from the global models. ⺠Polar jerks has been studied for the characteristics of the time-lag between the hemispheres. ⺠We suggested this new method can be easily implemented for new global models in 21st century.
