Abstract
► Properly conditioned stacking velocities are useful for lithology interpretation. ► Water-depth adjustment to velocities is needed for meaningful interpretation. ► Velocities as functions of pressure are useful to interpret lihology offshore. ► DDRS/SDRS may not be predominantly volcanic features as earlier thought. ► Substantial presence of sediments in upper DDRS/SDRS is possible.
