Abstract
► We examine geochemical data from the Neoproterozoic Johnnie Formation, SE California. ► Rock geochemistry suggests moderate to intense weathering of felsic source rocks. ► Feldspars are unevenly distributed in finer grained sediment. ► Variations in feldspar content are the result of abrasion and hydrodynamic sorting.
