Abstract
âºMorne Jacob volcano (Martinique) was active from 5.14 ± 0.07 to 1.53 ± 0.02 Ma./ âºMorne Jacob is the oldest volcano of the recent Lesser Antilles arc dated so far. âºUnloading due to creeping allowed eruption of densest magmas since 2.12 Ma. âºThe total erupted volume of Morne Jacob volcano is 145 ± 32 km3. âºThe time-averaged eruptive rate of Morne Jacob is 0.040 ± 0.008 km3/kyr.
