Abstract
► The Canaã area of the Carajás Province, Amazonian craton, is a Mesoarchean to Neoarchean terranes. ► The Archean granites contrast by large variations of Sr/Y, (La/Yb)N and Eu/Eu* ratios. ► The high Sr/Y granite derived from melting of a basaltic or lower crustal source. ► The variation of the Sr/Y, (La/Yb)N and Eu/Eu* ratios of the Archean granites is emphasized. ► The processes here discussed could be useful for the understanding of other Archean granites.
