Abstract

Goal of the project is the development of an efficient process to sample water condensing the humidity of air. The necessary cooling energy will be harvested by radiation exchange with upper atmospheric layers. We found a film very well adapted to the “Atmospheric Window” which allows a high efficient radiation exchange process. We are developing an optimized condenser module with an integrated heat exchanger. First results are shown. Because the film is very hydrophobic the process of water condensation is not efficient enough. For this reason we actually develop a method of surface treatment to fit out our film more hydrophilic. The most important objective of this project is the development of low budget facilities which can be used by third world nations.
