Abstract
⺠Komatiitic sills of the Mashaba Ultramafic Suite yield a mean SHRIMP age of 2746 Ma. ⺠Likely comagmatic, superjacent, komatiitic flow fields are assigned the same age. ⺠Komatiitic and subsequent basaltic volcanism lasted about 70 Ma. ⺠Felsic country rocks to the sills yield SHRIMP zircon ages of 2.87-2.80 Ga. ⺠Platformal to basinal sedimentation directly below the komatiites lasted 50-120 Ma.
