Abstract

âº Protoliths of augen gneisses of the Peloritani Mountains were ~Â 545Â Ma, late Ediacaran/early Cambrian granitoids. âº Granitoid magmas were generated by interaction between magmas derived from metagreywacke and mantle derived components. âº Fast crustal recycling: the time interval between sediment deposition and sediment partial melting at ~Â 545Â Ma was ~Â 10Â Ma.
