Abstract
⺠A Paleoproterozoic intra-oceanic arc-backarc system is advocated. ⺠The Eoeburnean reveals complex cycles of arc tectonics of amphibolite grade. ⺠Sawla granitoids and Maluwe epiclastics formed during backarc rifting. ⺠N-ward subduction folded the Maluwe Group and produced the Tanina Suite. ⺠D2 thrusting formed D1 features in Tanina, older Sunyani and Bui forearc units.
