Abstract
⺠We model Archean and Proterozoic crust of north India and compare with south India and global model. ⺠This study indicates that the north Indian Archean crust is thin â¼38 km. ⺠The Proterozoic Vindhyan crust is â¼44-46 km with 4-10 km thick underplated mafic layer. ⺠N Indian Archean crust is lower in shear velocity than eastern Dharwar craton or the global average. ⺠The present study suggests north Indian Archean crust is felsic in composition than the rest.
