Abstract
⺠We dated zircons from a pseudotachylyte and its host rock by the (U-Th)/He method. ⺠They were collected in the Ryoke belt, near the MTL, southwest Japan. ⺠The ages obtained are 60.3 ± 2.7 and 55.5 ± 4.5 (1SE) Ma, respectively. ⺠The pseudotachylyte formed at 60 Ma under the ambient temperature of 180 °C. ⺠Denudation rates 70-60 Ma was 0.6 mm/yr and 60-40 Ma was 0.2 mm/yr.
