Abstract
⺠The Kangal Basin includes two thick coal seams in the Pliocene Kalburçayırı formation. ⺠Coalification occurred in a limnic environment under conditions ranging from autochthonous to hypautochthonous. ⺠Where maturity has advanced somewhat, there is gas generation potential in certain horizons.
