Abstract
► Anisotropy and inhomogeneity of K-feldspar/mafic mineral patterns have been quantified. ► Mineral patterns have been recorded at high resolution over several square metres. ► Map-counting unveils mafic schlieren or felsic dykes not readily visible on the rock surface. ► MORFA unveils the mineral shape preferred orientation not visible in the field. ► Such fabrics represent flow/fracture structures in the crystallising magma.
