Abstract

Paleobathymetrical reconstructions were performed for the Volgian-Neocomian basin in northern West Siberia. The proposed technique takes into account a number of factors, such as the rates of basin subsidence and sedimentation, sediment lithification and types of lithology, sea level changes, and isostasy. The role of each factor controlling the depth of the paleobasin is considered. The study reveals several stages of formation of the Neocomian clinoform complex of West Siberia, with different regimes of basin subsidence, sedimentation, and isostatic compensation.
