Abstract
⺠We model the excitation of the Slichter mode using normal-mode formalism. ⺠We determine the complete response in the form of Green's function. ⺠We compute the surface excitation amplitude for pressure variations at the core boundaries and at the surface. ⺠We also compute the excitation amplitude induced by a meteoroid impact. ⺠The computations are made for a PREM Earth's model.
