Abstract
⺠Fine-grained soils have equal matrix potential at the liquid limit. ⺠It depends on the adsorbed water film thickness on the surfaces of clay minerals. ⺠Experimentally determined thickness of the water film is 8.1 nm at the liquid limit. ⺠The obtained value of the matrix potential at the liquid limit is 6 kPa.
