Abstract
⺠Two new correlations were also developed to predict constrained modulus from the corrected cone tip resistance and the net cone tip resistance. ⺠The comparison clearly showed that the predicted constrained modulus using the proposed two correlations agreed well with the measured constrained modulus for the site of K54+850 at Huaiyan Expressway. ⺠It would seem that use of pore pressure parameter as a substitute for in situ void ratio leads to an improvement in the small strain shear modulus predictions for Lixia River lagoon soils. ⺠The stress-strain-strength response of clays was evaluated by the maximum shear stiffness.
