Abstract
Numerous large landslides are present in the Alps of Ticino, Southern Switzerland. Landslides at Campo Vallemaggia, Cerentino, Peccia, Val Canaria, and Val Colla include sags or deep-seated creep phenomena and rotational slides with single detachment horizons and considerable displacements. Each of these landslides is described in this paper. Geological, structural, and kinematic data are included, historical events and exploration surveys are reviewed. Key features of the landslides are analyzed to infer their structural evolution.
