Abstract
Two mechanisms are described here, which generated the two main types of palaeoclimates - warm and cold - having affected the whole Earth from the post-Mesozoic cooling and the creation of the Gulf Stream (the latter having imposed alternations of warm periods and glaciations in the Northern Hemisphere since the Pliocene times.
