Abstract

The Nile valley and the Eastern Sahara: a prehistoric population expanding and retracting according to the changing climate. An analysis of the changes in population densities in the Nile valley and the eastern Sahara suggests that an interglacial environment resulted in the expansion of the population in the valley as well as in the desert. During the glacial periods, population nearly disappeared from the desert and seems to be reduced in the Nile valley. To cite this article: P.M. Vermeersch, C. R. Palevol 5 (2006).
