Abstract
⺠Genes encoding four proteins and two rRNAs from radiolarians were sequenced. ⺠Multigene analyses showed a close relationship between Radiolaria and Foraminifera. ⺠Two paralogues of actin, α-tubulin, and β-tubulin were found in radiolarians. ⺠One paralogue of radiolarian α-tubulin is likely to have been laterally transferred. ⺠Divergent β-tubulin may descend from a common ancestor of Retaria.
