Abstract
► Settling velocity is the most important parameter for the hydrodynamics of foraminifera. ► Shape entropy factor may strongly vary the settling velocity of each specimen. ► Correlation between orbital and settling velocity provides the transportability. ► Foraminifera resist water motion by building a hydrodynamic convenient test. ► To get light foraminifera live at the shallowest depth where they are not transported.
