Abstract
⺠Stable isotope values are notably different between modern sun and shade leaves. ⺠Isotope compositions don't present a difference between fossil sun and shade leaves. ⺠Anatomic features are better indicators in distinguishing fossil sun/shade leaves. ⺠Sun leaves may be more sensitive in response to past environmental changes. ⺠δ13C of sun morphotype is better proxy in reconstructing palaeoenvironments.
