Abstract
Pt bonded to lattice O on CeO2 (111) surface, forming Pt oxide species (represented as Pt1Â + and Pt2Â + or Pt-O and Pt-O-Ce). This effect was the essence of Strong Metal-Support Interaction (SMSI) in single atom catalyst (S-Pt/Ce0.7Zr0.3O2). The reduction of S-Pt/Ce0.7Zr0.3O2 was significantly improved by SMSI via the Pt oxide species as intermediates in reduction.97
