Abstract
The anion modified mixed metal oxides were active in the selective catalytic oxidation of toluene. Especially the iodine modified mesoporous mixed oxides exhibited the highest toluene conversion of 15.5% with 100% of the selectivity to benzaldehyde. This could be attributed to the strong stabilizing effect of iodide ion on the mesoporous structure of mixed oxides even at high temperatures of 1073Â K.60
