Abstract
- The outer surface of imogolite nanotubes is very reactive towards H2O2.
- Very reactive Al-OOH sites form by reaction between Al(OH)Al bridges and H2O2.
- Reactivity of Al(OH)Al bridges is related to the surface curvature of nanotubes.
- Doping with Fe depresses the reactivity towards H2O2.
- Fe-doped imogolite absorbs azo-dyes by ligand displacement.
