Abstract
Forty-four cases of poisoning were brought together during 6 years of the study. The average age of the children was 3.8 ± 3.3 years old with a male ascendancy SR = 1.47. The circumstances of poisoning were accidental in 97.7 %. Products incriminated in our study were caustic products in 32 cases and irritating products in 12 cases. The digestive signs were present in 73.1 % followed by the ENT signs at 17.9 %. The endoscopy was realized in all the cases, esophageal huts of which it showed and or gastric in 61.3 %. The symptomatic treatment was appropriate in 95.5 % of the cases. The evolution was favorable to 23 of the cases. The death was recorded at one child resulting from an ingestion of the hydroxide of soda.
