Abstract
A series of trans-A2B-corroles having push-pull groups on meso-positions were synthesized and characterized by various spectroscopic techniques. Ultrafast NLO properties of the investigated corroles in the visible range (at 800Â nm) were evaluated using picosecond Z-scan technique. The investigated corroles possessed negative type of nonlinearity and self-defocusing behavior with the magnitude of nonlinear refractive index (n2) 0.35-2.84Â ÃÂ 10â11 cm2/W. The strong two-photon absorption coefficient and large values of Ï(3) suggest that the reported free base corroles (1-6) are better than reported corroles due to their push-pull design and prove to be potential NLO materials.354
