Abstract
We have synthesized three pairs of enantiomers for chiral bisporphyrins H1-H3 by connecting two zinc(II) porphyrin units to a homochiral (R)-(+)- or (S)-(−)-1,1′-bi-2-naphthol moiety with ester or ether linkages. The intramolecular chirality induction and intermolecular chirality modulation events have been studied by UV-Vis, 1H NMR and CD spectroscopic techniques with the assistance of DFT molecular modeling.221
