Abstract
The isobaric molar heat capacities of exo-tetrahydrodicyclopentadiene (exo-THDCPD) in the temperature range of 323Â K-523Â K and at pressures up to 6Â MPa were measured by using a flow calorimeter. The results show that the isobaric heat capacities of exo-THDCPD increase gradually with increasing temperature at fixed pressure and decrease with increasing pressure at fixed temperature. The experimental heat capacities of exo-THDCPD are compared with the reported heat capacity data and calculated values of exo-THDCPD using the Helmholtz's free energy equation, and are also compared with the reported heat capacity data of decane. On the basis of the experimental data, a correlation equation was proposed to calculate the isobaric heat capacity of exo-THDCPD. The calculated values agree well with the experimental data.
