Abstract
â¢Pt deposits on Au represent a heterogeneous electrode with a rate constant k.â¢Rate constant k for Fe2 +/3 + decreases gradually as Pt deposition covers Au surface.â¢The reorganization energy of the Fe2 +/3 + system contributes mostly to kAu0/kPt0.
Electron transfer rate constant decreases gradually for a Fe2+/3+ redox system as platinum deposition covers a gold surface. This effect is assumed to be conditioned by reconstruction of double electric layer on a platinum deposit which increases reorganization energy and decreases the redox reaction rate constant.
