Abstract
In this study, the preparation of reduced ilmenite for welding electrodes from marine placer via carbothermic reduction with added aluminum (Al) was systematically investigated. The heat released by the aluminothermic reduction can be strengthen carbothermic reduction. The method of carbothermic reduction of marine placer with additional aluminum is the first time put forward, and obtains good results.145
