Abstract
This paper reports the design and properties of a geopolymer binder developed for pipe production using a slinger device, and suitable for transporting low caloric gas at temperatures reaching 500 °C. The influence of curing time at ambient conditions on the durability of the resulting material was investigated. All application and shaping requirements were met. Further, a reaction with atmospheric CO2 causing expansion during the first 10 days of curing was identified. Controlling this reaction may offer further potential for improvement.
