Abstract
When Graphene Oxide (GO) is properly mixed with cement, it improves and strengthens the properties of cement. To analyze the effect of aqueous GO solutions on the mechanical strength of cement mortars, this paper investigated three factors: compressive, bending, and tensile strengths. The result shows that GO cement mortars display a higher average of compressive, bending and tensile strengths than ordinary cement mortars. Furthermore, cross-sectional image analysis using Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FE-SEM) shows increased coherence inside the cement due to powerful covalent bonds with C-S-H, a hydrate.
