Abstract
In this paper the problem of modeling functionally graded materials in the form of fibre composites filled with fibres of constant diameter is considered. The aim of modeling was to determine an effective thermal conductivity in direction of variable fibre saturation for this type of material. The discrete and continuous approach to calculating effective thermal conductivities was investigated and then numerical tests of the accuracy of the proposed approach were carried out using finite element method.
