Abstract
The calculation and analysis model of 14Â MeV neutron flux in the converter has been established, and the neutron flux disturbance of converter to irradiation channel, the leakage of tritium in 6LiD converter and influence of the converter on the performance of the reactor core were considered. The results show that it is feasible to convert thermal neutron to 14Â MeV neutron in HFETR, the optimal thickness of 6LiD converter is 0.5Â mm, and effective yield of thermal neutron converting to 14Â MeV neutron is 2.71Â ÃÂ 10â4.
