Abstract

- Authors are likely to be benefitted by having a view of the reasons for rejection of manuscripts sent for possible publication to various psychiatry journals, as it may help them to better prepare their manuscripts.
- Our study suggested most common flaw being in the design of the study.
- While method section contained the most flaws and was most often responsible for outright rejection.
- Among the specific deficiencies, most of the editors responded that unoriginal, predictable or trivial results section was the most common reason for outright rejection.
