Abstract
In contrast to the prior constructive criticism literature that has focused on the attributional perspective, we investigate how high context communicators practice contextual cues. Using a multiple-case, inductive study of subordinates' norm violation happened in Chinese organizations, the process model of constructive criticism presents how high context communicators manipulate the contextual components: people evaluate the quality and degree of constructive criticism via the mix of message and spatial context, determine whether to accept it at once by relationship context; if not, people spend time to get self-introspection to accept it.
