Abstract
•BSCC mixed matrix membranes containing copper oxide and perovskite phase.•Exceptionally high O2 fluxes reaching 27.5 ml cm−2 min−1 at 950 °C.•O2 permeance was 86 times higher above 18 kPa than best perovskite membrane.•A key feature of BSCC is an intergranular network of an amorphous copper rich phase.
