Abstract
Results indicate that natural convection becomes remarkable and has different forms at the initial periods of the phase change process. Increasing the effect of natural convection in the cavity increases the cooling rate of water. Near the density inversion temperature of water (4°C), temperature variations fluctuate and counter currents observed in the domain.
