Abstract
In this paper, for development and design of enhanced integrated microwave heaters, the temperature- and frequency-dependent electrophysical models of reference solvents are created using known published and authors' own measurement results. The models validated in the broad frequency and temperature range allow designing heaters for microwave-assisted chemistry in a short time and with improved accuracy and enhanced efficiency. In particular, a novel suspended strip heater design was proposed, simulated, and experimentally tested in continuous-flow heating of methanol and ethanol close to their boiling points without essential occlusion effect at established pumping rates. The created and validated models of these liquids and the developed integrated suspended strip heaters are interesting in design of components for portable on-demand chemical manufacturing and 3-D printing.
