Abstract

In this paper, polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) was modified with 3-aminopropyl triethoxysilane (APTES) and formed chemically crosslinked beads with chitosan. FTIR and SEM were used to characterize the support and immobilized catalase. Compared with control group, the activity of modified group increased about 1400 U/gsupport. The optimal temperature and optimal pH of immobilized catalase were 45 °C and pH 7.0. The thermal stability of catalase also enhanced after immobilization. Moreover, the immobilized catalase retained more than 90% of its original activity after using it for 9 times.
